Random picture...

And this is how you grab attention. A random picture on your blog that makes people wonder what you've gotta say in the entry.

I just felt like sharing this picture.

A few of you might have seen it before, cos I was actually quite captivated when I stumbled upon this pic in my folders and then I started sending to a few friends. Took this in Silhanoukville when I was doin' OCIP in Cambodia last yr and we brought a couple of unfortunate kids who were HIV-infected to the beach. In the picture is an Indian sister who was amongst those who accompanied the kids to the beach. And those snapshots started drifting across my mind again, like taking a familiar stroll down memory lane.

And this is when I kicked off my shoes after coming back from yet another day of uneventful work, stripped down and tumbled onto my armchair and deriving an impulse to write about life. And the thought of putting up this picture surfaced, as I find myself entering a parallel universe. The sister heaving a sigh and stepping into the warm shallow waters to embrace mother nature. A rare moment where she found time and space for herself.

Life continues to be a question mark.

Inactivity.

Sorry for the inactivity...took a short break from blogging since I started my internship.

Here and now is where i recall some unremarkable days go by like a tireless army marching pass my window...i remember quoting this from Murakami's The Elephant Vanishes before...but it's simply such an apt description of my plain-sailing life now.

Have been working at UBS for 3 weeks or so already. I must say the working environment and employee culture are pretty decent but IB back office work is simply bloody boring albeit bloody important. I really really can't imagine myself doin' what i'm doin' now for a living in the future. Back office is full of women of all ages...Individual jobs are highly specific/specialized and hence everyone gets stuck to what they are doin' for a long long time. They do get promoted along the way, but they are just doin' the same thing still. Well, since i'm stuck with it, i just gotta tell myself to make the best out of my remaining 2 months there ba....like becoming even more pro in MSExcel even after taking CAT (some compulsory basic excel module in SMU) already. And I'll definitely treasure the network of colleagues and bosses I got acquainted with in the bank la, a bunch of fun and nice people really.

Head-SMU Squash Fever 2007 went smoothly executed 3weeks back. It'd never have been possible for the event to run smoothly if not for the help of Maoyuan and my bunch of highly competent squashies (short for squash freshies), siewling, mich, dennis et al. Thank you, squashers. Let's look forward to more fun for the rest of our term and hope to recruit more fun and gd-looking people fr the next batch of freshies!

This week was more eventful with FKC dropping by Singapore from HK briefly b4 heading to KL for his bank training. It's gd to see him again on my own soil after bidding farewell to him in HK last month. Managed to gather some sec 4 classmates and had a small reunion dinner at Aston's Specialties steakhouse followed by a really memorable time at Katong Settler's Cafe...was introduced to 2 games - Jurassic Jumble and Saboteur which were damn fun when played in large groups. Today is like no other day really...and i'm sure for many days to come, i'll always remember this day, cos it's the day when the whole group of us hear the same laughters we had 8 years ago.

No more plans for the rest of summer already....gotta apply for next yr's exchange programme next month and also contemplate whether to sign up for a few of my remaining ACCA courses. I need to finish the last mile.

I dislike contemplation.
