Wall painting

This is part of my company's corporate social responsibility work...everyone took half a day off yesterday to do wall painting at the Institute of Mental Health.

We thought this was gonna be Mission Impossible cos it doesn't seem like anyone in the Group has artistic talent. We tried to follow the picture on the projector, draw the outline on the wall and paint over it...and then after a while..we sort of just decided to do things our way...

And it only took 5 of us 3 hours to get this done :)

Redang

Went Redang with Thor, GY and KY almost immediately after coming back from Japan. And at that point i thought i was mad becos i haven't quite finished up my CFA revision.

Getting to redang is a sheer pain...10 hr overnight bus ride + 2 hr ferry ride...and essentially we only spent 1 and a 1/2 days on the island. We went during the super-peak period...there were way too many beachgoers...when we went snorkelling, there were more human beings than fishes in the sea!

No doubt the shores look like how we see them on postcards..and the island has gained much popularity after the 1999 Sammi & Richie Ren's movie 夏日的麽麽茶 which was filmed on the same beach that Laguna was built on. I could imagine the beach and the waters were 10 times more beautiful before the resort was built.

I love Japan

My first official date with Japan...the Tokyo/Osaka and the Kyoto/Nara/Hakone side of Japan. And I would tell myself at the end of the trip, if i love this country, i would probably come back again many many times in the future...

Frankly I think Tokyo and Kyoto are probably most representative of Japan...one the cospomolitan and highly advanced facet...the other the zen and simple facet.

It actually reminds me of Germany alot...the people there are civic minded, public transport is disabled-friendly, places are generally damn clean (you can hardly find dustbins anywhere), everything seems to be so systematic...you just have to go with the flow.

Food wise was damn solid too. If i were a richer, i'm sure i would love japan even more :)

Back

Very long nvr update blog le. These days people get so busy i wonder if they still blog or read other pple's blogs.

Anyway, i'm back from my 2 trips. And now i'm days before my CFA exam...having huge inertia to do my revision despite being on study leave this whole week (it's a terrible thing to do to go on holidays just b4 exams...but i did it anyways.)

Will probably do two separate entries of the trips when i have the time.

I'm quite looking forward to after this sunday...lots of things i wanna do...begin my weight-loss regime, my job-hunt, world cup 2010, japanese classes, cycling trips, reading etc etc.

Right now i just have to focus on nothing but passing the damn exam.

I keep telling myself there's nothing to lose....but actually i paid a grand for it. Damn i do have something to lose....
